Showcase Beat Le Mot, established in 1997, is an international performance- and theatre-collective. The four-headed group is mentioned as one of the internationally relevant contemporary performance-groups (i.e. Knut Ove Arntzen: Post Mainstream Theatre 2001; Hans-Thies Lehmann: Postdramatisches Theater, etc.). Since their formation the group works in various artistic fields next to theatre, like music, TV, visual arts, literature, sciences and event organisation. They have produced and staged performances, shows and theatre-pieces all over Europe, i.e. in Berlin (Volksbühne, Podewil, Hebbel am Ufer), Hamburg (kampnagel, deutsches Schauspielhaus), Munich (SpielArt Festival), Hannover (Expo 2000), Giessen, Dresden (Hellerau), Leipzig (LOFFT) and Düsseldorf (FFT), Helsinki (artgenda 2000), Graz (steirischer herbst), Stockholm, Paris (Fondation Cartier), Zagreb (Eurokaz Festival / Urban Festival), Zadar (zadarznova festival), Vienna (Donaufestival), Ljubljana (Mladi Llevi), Tallinn (Von Krahl Theater), Bitola (National Theatre of Macedonia) Split, Sarajevo, Cardiff/England (Chapter Arts), Antwerpen, Zurich (Theaterhaus Gessnerallee), Bologna, Cologne und Mulheim (impulse). The group has produced music-videos for TV (Kitty-Yo 2000, EMI 2004 and 2006 - Jury-Price and Audience-Price Shortfilm-Days Oberhausen) as well as curated congress, theatre-festivals and art-events in Berlin, Hamburg, Bochum and Dusseldorf. Because of their leading way of integrating different pop-cultural media as sports, music, comics, cinema and TV in their pieces and because of their humoresque approach of dealing with complex political and social issues, they consistently attract interest within the international press. Their work with stuff for a younger audience began with the manga-series "Gomune" (2003/04) and was then continued to a didactic play in coorperation with the Youth-Theatre Skampis. In their production "alarm Hamburg Shanghai" (2005) and "EUROPIRAADID" (2006), a german-estnic-austrian co-production, the group investigated the fusion posiibilities of performance-asthetics, dance and music-theatre. For their kids-production "The Robber Hotzenplotz" (2007) there were awarded at the Impulse Festival with the Price of the Goethe-Institute.

The Jury´s statement was: "Showcase Beat le Mot was successfull in telling the well-known children´s book classic in a very new way. Charming and through the use of all legal and half-legal instruments of theater as illusion, desillusion, magic, irony, dance and singing they reconstructed, together with their young accomplices in the audience, the story of the coffee mill robbing Hotzenplotz. They take children serious without chumming up with them. And they get rid of all clichés, that the kids may had in mind out from cassette and movie." (ft)

2009 the production was invited to the kids- and youth-theater meeting "Augenblick mal!" in Berlin and is therefore - so the jury - one of the best five productions of the last two years.

With the 2008 production "Vote Zombie Andy Beuyz" the group toured through Hamburg, Berlin, Dusseldorf, Zurich, Vienna and Copenhagen.
